Essex has one state finish

DES MOINES — The Essex Trojannettes track team didn’t have a top eight finisher at the state meet in Des Moines on Thursday and Saturday.

The girls’ 4x800-meter relay team finished 23rd with a time of 10:48.33.

Griswold won the 4x800-meter relay title on their way to winning the state title.

Their state time is the best of their season. They had a previous high of 10:55.65 at the Districts in Corning on May 12.

Annie Lindberg was suppose to compete in the 100-meter hurdles, but she had a DNF (did not finish).
