Franklin Walter, 81

George Franklin “Red” Walter, 81, Corning, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Alegent Creighton Health Mercy Hospital in Corning.

George Franklin “Red” Walter, son of James Alfred and Agnes Lucille (Findley) Walter, was born on March 28, 1932 on a farm three miles east of Prescott.

Left to cherish Franklin’s memory is his wife, Ruby Walter of Corning; daughters, Denise Pitman of Indianola, Patricia Johnson of Gravity and Colleen Thatcher of Minden, Neb.; and brothers, James Walter, Jr. of Corning and Max Walter of Omaha.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Villisca United Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Scott officiating. Interment with military honors will be at the Methodist Grove Cemetery in Adams County.
