Friday Football: Class A District 8 week 3 preview

There will be all district games for the Class A District 8 teams Friday night, around Southwest Iowa.

Griswold will be on the road to play Underwood. The Tigers are coming off of a 7-3 win against Nodaway Valley, last week.

Underwood is 0-2 as both games have been losses by double-digit points. Their most recent loss was a 40-point blowout to Tri-Center, last week.

Griswold has won three of the last four meetings against Underwood, including last year by a score of 12-0.

East Mills will be home Friday night as they play Riverside. The Bulldogs scored an upset win against the Mustangs in week two. For East Mills, they shutout Clarinda Academy, last week.

This will be the Wolverines first district game as an 11-man team.

The other two games taking place Friday night will be Logan-Magnolia at West Monona and Westwood at A-H-S-T.

Logan-Magnolia has won the last four meetings against West Monona. The last time West Monona defeated Logan-Magnolia was in 2003.

A-H-S-T has a chance to get over the .500 mark overall and start 1-0 in the district. The last time A-H-S-T and Westwood played was in 2001. A-H-S-T has won both meetings against Westwood.
