Griswold advances to state in boys golf

 The Griswold boys golf team advanced on to the state golf meet, which takes place at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown Friday and Saturday.

Griswold joins fellow Western Iowa Conference school Riverside in the eight team field. The Tigers posted one of the top scores to get into the field as they shot a 320 at districts Friday at Crestwood Hills in Anita.

Jake Reynolds enters state as one of the top scorers as he shot a 74 at districts. James Reynolds shot a 79, while Morgan Kimpson had an 83. Treighton Oakleaf shot an 84, while Tyler Wyman had an 86. Tyrel Peters is the other qualifier for Griswold as he shot a 95 at districts.

The other schools competing in the 1A field include Bishop Garrigan, East Buchanan, Grundy Center, Lisbon, Newell-Fonda and Winfield-Mt. Union.

The state meet kicks off Friday at noon and will continue Saturday at 8 a.m.
