Griswold splits at home tournament

GRISWOLD — The Griswold Tigers baseball team lost in the finals of their scheduled home  tournament on Saturday.
Griswold lost to Ogden, 10-0.

In their first game, the Tigers defeated the Villisca Blue Jays, 2-1.
Devin Bates and Mason Boucher provided the only runs of the game for Griswold.

Bates was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double, which put the sophomore in position to score.

Griswold had only three hits during the entire game.

For Villisca, Jace Ayers scored their lone run.

Max Mauderly was credited with the loss for Villisca.

Mauderly pitched six innings, giving up one earned run on two hits and striking out three batters.

Both teams were in action Monday, but results weren’t available as of press time.
