The Harberts elected as Grand Marshals in Essex

Stew and Renae Harberts have been elected as the 2012 Essex Labor Day Grand Marshals.

Stew was an owner and operator of the Essex Elevator for 35 years until selling to Green Plains Renewable Energy and United Farmers Mercantile in 2008.

Renae has been an Essex Elementary resource teacher for 16 years. She retired this year.  
Their three children graduated from Essex, and Stew and Renae have been involved in school activities over the years.

They are members of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Essex American Legion and Auxiliary.

They are also members of the Essex Com-munity Club, serving on various committees and acting as chairs of numerous activities.

Stew and Renae will be honored Labor Day weekend as special guests at events and as Grand Marshals of the parade Monday.
