Harold R. Cozad, 83
Harold R. “Cozy” Cozad, 83, of Council Bluffs, died July 28, 2009, at Mercy Hospital.
Cozy was born May 19, 1926, in Red Oak to the late Ray and Carmelita (Malenburg) Cozad. He graduated from Red Oak High School in 1943 and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Cozy returned to Red Oak, where he owned and operated Jessens Clothing Store for 41 years retiring in 1989. He was past-president of the Red Oak Chamber of Commerce, worked on various projects for the Red Oak Industrial Foundation; and a member of the Red Oak Country Club.
Cozy was preceded in death by sisters, Marie Parker, Virginia Crilly and brother, Robert Cozad.
He is survived by his wife Ardith (Tate) Cozad of Council Bluffs; sisters, Jan (Don) Beeson of Red Oak, and Georgia Brayman of Omaha, Neb.
Celebration of Life Tea will be held Aug. 6 from 2-4 p.m. at Primrose Retirement Community, 1801 E. Kanesville Blvd., Council Bluffs, IA 51503.
