Bedford smacks 12 hits in win over Griswold

Bedford pounded 12 hits and got a complete-game victory on the mound from Quentin Dalton in a 15-2 win over Griswold in Corner Conference baseball Friday.
The Bulldogs plated five runs in the first inning and the lead was all Dalton needed in his 98 pitch win. The junior scattered two hits and struck out nine.
 John Deemer led Bedford with three hits, including a double and home run, while driving in three.
Brayden Lockwood took the loss on the hill for Griswold. The senior allowed eight hits and nine earned runs in three innings of work.
Jaxson Eilts drove in two runs for Griswold.

Hamburg 12,
Essex 7
Essex dropped a 12-7 decision at home to Hamburg in Corner Conference baseball Friday.
The Wildcats smacked 12 hits in the win with Drake Christo leading the way with a four-hit night.
Isaiah Ballan picked up the win on the mound after allowing two hits and no earned runs while striking out six in three innings.
Rhys Chambers was credited with the loss. The sophomore allowed two hits and five earned runs while fanning seven.
Landry King led Essex at the plate with two hits.  

Fremont-Mills 21,
Essex 2
A 15 run first inning helped lift Fremont-Mills to a 21-2 victory over Essex in Corner Conference baseball Thursday in Tabor.
The Knights notched 11 hits in the win. Evan Laumann, Rowen Howe and Landon Morse had two hits each to lead the way. Howe drove in four runs and Morse three.
Carter Rycroft singled and drove in three runs.
Garrett Johnson picked up the win on the mound tossing two innings and allowing two hits and one earned run while striking out five.
Will Roberts was credited with the loss for the Trojans. The senior allowed four hits, 11 earned runs and three walks.
Roberts, Stephen Johnson and Grayson Thornton each collected hits for Essex.

Griswold 22,
Essex 7
Griswold scored 19 runs combined in the fourth and fifth innings to pull away in a 22-7 win over Essex in Corner Conference baseball last Monday.
Grayson Smith and Jaxon Eilts had two each to lead a 10-hit Griswold attack at the plate. Smith drove in two runs and Ellts one.
Calden Turner picked up the win on the mound. The senior allowed just one hit and fanned five in 2 and 1/3 innings of work.
Ben King took the loss for the Trojans. King allowed one hit and seven earned runs while walking three.
Brody Kirchert, Rhys Chambers and Will Roberts had a hit each to lead Essex. Chambers also drove in a run.

Griswold gets by Bedford, 3-1
Griswold edged Bedford 3-1 in Corner Conference softball Friday in Bedford.
The Tigers (9-2) pushed two runs across in the top of the sixth and Ailey Wahlert pitched a scoreless final two innings to hold off the Bulldogs for the complete-game victory.
Braxton Gipple had two hits and drove in three runs for the Tigers in the win.
Macy Musich took the loss for Bedford after allowing six hits and two earned runs while fanning three.

Griswold-CAM 17,
East Mills 0
Griswold-CAM blanked East Mills 17-0 in Corner Conference softball Thursday.
Isabella Blanton and Emma Vasquez each had hits for East Mills.
Vasquez took the loss in the circle after allowing seven earned runs while walking six.

IKM-Manning 10,
Griswold 9
Kadynce Ketcham drove in three runs and tossed a complete game in the circle to lead IKM-Manning to a 10-9 win over Griswold in nonconference softball last Wednesday.
Ketcham allowed 15 hits and nine earned runs while fanning two in the victory.

Fremont-Mills 24,
Essex 0
A big first inning at the plate and a strong pitching performance by Adelynn Billingsley helped Fremont-Mills to a 24-0 win over Essex in Corner Conference softball Thursday in Tabor.
The Knights plated 15 first inning runs while tallying 13 hits in the victory.
Billingsley had two hits and drove in four runs while allowing two hits and striking out four in the four-inning victory in the circle.
Lana Alley, Carlie Nuckolls and Malcom had two hits each for the Knights. Nuckolls drove in four runs and Malcom three. Melodie Fichter added a triple to drive in two runs.
Mariska Kirchert took the loss in the circle. The senior allowed four hits and two earned runs in the loss.
 Kylie Valdez had both of the Trojanettes’ hits.

Boyer Valley 11,
Essex 9
Addyson Knickman and Choya Ingram drove in two runs each for Boyer Valley in a 11-9 win over Essex in nonconference softball last Tuesday.
Knickman was credited with the win after allowing three hits and no earned runs while striking out nine.
Aila Valdez had two hits and drove in two runs and Piper Maher had a hit and drove in three for Essex.

Griswold-CAM 11,

Pitcher Ailey Wahlert and Keeley Kinney combined on a four-inning, one-hitter for Griswold in an 11-0 win over Essex in Corner Conference softball last Monday.
Wahlert struck out seven and walked one to earn the win in the circle. The sophomore had two hits and drove in three runs.
Daphna Wahlert and Amanda Houser added two hits each and drove in a run.
Ella Sandahl took the loss for Essex. The junior allowed 13 hits and 11 earned runs.
Kylie Valdez singled for the Trojanettes’ lone hit.
