Tigers 3-2 at Tri-Center tourney

Class 2A, No. 9 ranked Red Oak was 3-2 on the day at the Tri-Center Invitational Tournament Saturday in Neola.
The Tigers (18-6 overall, 4-2 in the Western Iowa Conference) notched wins over Lawton-Bronsonn 21-13, 21-15, Westwood 21-16, 21-19 and the host Trojans 14-21, 21-13, 15-5. Their losses came to IKM-Manning 21-18, 17-21, 13-15 and Atlantic 21-19, 21-19.
Keely Jones led the Tigers’ attack with 58 kills on the day. Ellie O’Neal added 16 kills and Natalie Johnson 14.
Ella Blackman dished up 50 set assists and Kaylee Erickson 47.

The Red Oak volleyball team fell to Logan-Magnolia 25-23, 9-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-13 in Western Iowa Conference volleyball Thursday in Logan.
Keely Jones led the Tigers with 24 kills. As a team they hit at a .144 efficiency with 51 kills.
Kaylee Erickson dished up 27 set assists and Ella Blackman 17.
Maria Kiger led Logan-Magnolia with 14 kills. Lindsey Kastner added 11 kills.

Red Oak 25-25-25,
AHSTW 6-23-20
Keely Jones knocked down a game-high 24 kills to lead Red Oak to a 25-6, 25-23, 25-20 win over AHSTW in Western Iowa Conference volleyball last Tuesday.
The Tigers hit a red-hot .327 as a team with 47 kills in the win.
“We started really finding our rhythm and connections with our hitters and setters,” said Red Oak coach Angie Montgomery. “I thought we played extremely well in set one, took a pretty commanding lead and didn’t let up. I was very proud of the girls for continuing to fight in sets two and three when we knew we were not passing as well.  We are into the meat of our season and playing a lot of games against a lot of solid teams so I couldn’t be more proud of our kids for their focus and support of one another.”
Ellie O’Neal added nine kills and Natalie Johnson five.
 Ella Blackman and Kaylee Erickson paced the offense with 24 and 15 set assists each, respectively.
Addison Carroll led AHSTW with nine kills.
