Tigers fall to Falcons in boys soccer

Undefeated Council Bluffs St. Albert downed Red Oak 10-0 Hawkeye 10 Conference boys soccer last Wednesday.
The Falcons (7-0) found the back of the net in the 29th minute of the first half to take a 1-0 lead and then added to their lead a minute later for a quick 2-0 start.
“The wind which played havoc for both sides unfortunately,” said Red Oak coach Mark Kells.
The Tigers continued to battle throughout the first half, giving up two more goals taking a 4-0 lead into the break.
After halftime the Falcons had the wind and took full advantage.
“We just had a hard time getting rhythm in the second half and couldn’t get any lucky breaks on the pitch,” Kells said.
St. Albert put up six more goals within the first 23 minutes of the second half to end the game 10-0.
“We have nothing to hang our heads for,” Kells said. “The Falcons are a great team and well coached and we gave everything we had. I believe in these guys they just have to believe in themselves and put their skills to work every chance they get.”
Kyle Irwin had five goals for St. Albert. Ben Krohn added two goals and Kystopher Moseley, Cain Hughes and Morgan Young each added goals.
Santiago Vasquez and Pace Chaillie each had a shot on goal for the Tigers.
Wyatt Roberts had nine saves in goal for Red Oak.
