Tigers nip SW Valley in tennis

Red Oak notched a 6-3 win over Southwest Valley in non-conference girls tennis last Monday.
“It was a night of perseverance and energy on the courts, with both teams competing hard until the very end,” said Red Oak coach Luis MacDonald.
The meet was highlighted by a pair of incredibly close tiebreaker matches: Ella Blackman tough 9-8 (7-5) No. 2 singles loss to Hailey Randall and in doubles, Caitlin Britten and Bella Kling’s No. 2 singles loss, 9-8 (7-1).
The Tigers secured strong wins from Ana Torres (8–0), Mariella Hernandez (8–1), and Caitlin Britten (8–0) in singles. In doubles, Anna Butz and Blackman rolled to an 8–2 win, while Mariella Hernandez and Anna Torres dominated 8–0.
