Everyone played tonight, and that terrific team defense was from great hustle from all 11. Everyone contributed to this team victory. The Tigers won both first half quarters 13-12 to build a 26-24 halftime lead.  The host Timberwolves responded with a great second half, controlling the game with stifling defense including a 17-1 stretch out of halftime and a 30-10 second half overall surge to win by that 18-point margin.
“We really struggled with our defense in the first half and made some adjustments,” said Southwest Valley coach Mike Cormack. “To their credit, our girls really responded with an outstanding second half.  We can be a really explosive team at times and we showed that in that second half.  We did enough to stay in the game in the first half and really came on in the second.  Credit to Lenox for coming in with a great fight in the first half and then to our girls for responding with a really good half of basketball in response.”
