Wolverines rally in win over Sidney
East Mills used a 21-8 third quarter run to rally past Sidney 61-52 in Corner Conference boys basketball Friday in Sidney.
East Mills (7-3 overall, 3-0 in the conference) trailed 27-25 at the half before outscoring the Cowboys (6-3 overall, 5-1 in the conference) 36-25 after halftime.
The Wolverines didn’t have a great shooting night from the field – 38.9 percent – but they held an advantage on the free throw line, hitting 16-of-29 to the Cowboys’ 4-of-9 night at the charity stripe. East Mills also held a 37-26 rebounding edge.
Caleb Urban led the way for the Wolverines with a season-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Jackson Embree added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Mason Camden chipped in 10 points.
Braedon Godfread scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Andreas Buttry added 13 points to lead Sidney.

Essex 42
East Mills used a 27-point third quarter to blow open a 38-23 halftime lead en route to an 83-42 win over Essex in Corner Conference boys basketball last Tuesday.
Mason Camden scored a career-high 24 points to lead East Mills. Jackson Embree added 18 points and Sheldon Vandenberg 14.
Wade Sholes led Essex with 16 points and Isiah Sholes added 10.
Sidney defeats East Mills, 50-40
Ava Osborn scored 19 points to lead Sidney to a 50-40 victory over East Mills in Corner Conference girls basketball Friday.
The Wolverines (5-4 overall, 3-1 in the conference) were led by Caitlyn Crouse’s 16 points and a double-double from Ava Grindle with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Caitlyn Crouse put in 15 points to lead East Mills to a 45-16 victory over Essex in Corner Conference girls basketball last Tuesday.
