Irvin G. Bolton, 81

Irvin G. Bolton, 81, of Red Oak, died on July 24, 2009, at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha after a sudden illness.

Irvin Gene Bolton was born, March 1, 1928, on a farm near Carson, the son of Lorence George and Mona Irene (Higgens) Bolton. He attended country school until the family moved to Treynor, Iowa where Irvin graduated high school in the class of 1946. In 1950 he married Connie Byers at the family farm near Carson. Irv and Connie lived on farms near the Macedonia and Henderson area before moving to the Emerson farm where they raised their family and lived for 50 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughters; Mary Ellen and Susan Diane and a granddaughter; Angela Eggers.

Survivors include his wife; Connie Bolton of Red Oak; children: Patricia (Rod) Hacker of Oskaloosa; Gerald (Cathy) Bolton of Griswold; Carolyn Bolton of Red Oak; Amy (Kerry) Confer of Emerson; Julie Bolton of Red Oak; Michael Bolton of St. Joseph, Mo.; and Gwendolyn (Greg) Eggers of Carson; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother: Harvey Bolton of Le Mars.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on July 28 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Janice Carlton officiating. A private family burial will take place prior to the services.

Memorials are suggested to the Hawthorne United Methodist Church.
