James "Jim" Thurman

James “Jim” Charles Thuman passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids.
Jim was born on May 8, 1944, in Villisca, the son of Leo and Doris (Goodwin) Thuman.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Angela Thuman of Clarinda and Ashley Mikkelsen of Maryville, Mo.; five grandchildren; his wife, Kathleen Headlee of Coon Rapids; and Kathleen’s children, Brian Headlee and Annette Dingman.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the First United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids. A celebration of life visitation in Red Oak will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel from 4 - 6 p.m.
