Jenner Invitational track results

Red Oak and Southwest Valley track teams participated in the Jenner Invitational indoor track meet held on Saturday in Lamoni.
The Red Oak girls team finished in 16th place.
Dana Marsden collected all six points for the team for her third place finish in the 200m with a time of 28.87.
Courtni Lindsay and Emily Peterson also ran the 200m, placing 56th and 69th respectively.
The results were:
4x200 relay: Marsden, Lindsay, Trinity Peterson, Kyndal Kells 12th.
400m: Madison Hewett 31st; Keyla Strough 32nd.
800m: Strough 17th.
Distance medley: Kells, Marsden, Emily Peterson, Hewett 15th.
Thirteen boys competed for the Red Oak team and placed 10th overall. The results are as follows:
Long jump: Isaac Birt, 18’7”, seventh.
Shot put: Colton Kinnison ninth; Cody Bentley 14th; Cody Fouts 18th; Mitchell Johnson 19th.
200m: Birt 23rd, Carter Bruce 43rd.
55m: Carter Maynes 29th; Hunter Woods 43rd; Isaac Bower 48th.
55m high hurdles: Cam Vanderhoof 11th.
400m: Vanderhoof seventh; Justin McCunn 14th.
1600m: Liam Eubank 14th; Bruce Lukehart 20th.
3200m: Eubank fifth; Lukehart eighth.
4x200: Woods, Bruce, Bower, Birt 14th.
Distance medley: Birt, Woods, Vanderhoof, Bentley seventh.
Southwest Valley
The Timberwolves took all 15 girls on the roster to the meet.
“All girls ran well on the track,” Southwest Valley girls coach Jason Hults said. “A few girls were disappointed in their times, but I continue to remind them that our focus is on the conference meet and the district qualifying meet in May. Everything we do up to that point is in preparation for those meets, and the times we run now are helping us know where to focus our efforts in practice to continue to get better.”
Results were:
High jump: Bella Johnson tied for second.
Shot put: Danica Sunderman eighth.
4x200: Johnson, Miah Hummel, Kayley Myers, Lexie Haer seventh.
Distance medley: Myers, Payton Thomas, Johnson, Mazzy Hummel seventh.
Allen Naugle, SWV boys track coach was happy with the results for the teams first meet of the year.
“There was some very good competition at this meet, and I was very pleased with how the guys did,” Naugle said. “We had some jumping and throwing for the first time ever, and it was a great way to get some guys some experience going into our first outdoor meet.”
Grant Maurer placed second in the high hurdles, and Christian McCuen earned second in the high jump.
