Kathlean Claybaker, 75

Kathlean “Kay” Claybaker, 75, Clarinda, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Clarinda Regional Health Center, Clarinda.

Kathlean Kay Williams was born to Chester and Letha (Carmichael) Williams in Hepburn Oct. 18, 1938.

Kay and Leo Claybaker married Aug. 1, 1964. To this union, two daughters were born, Dorene in 1965 and Danell in 1968. Kay worked at Douglas and Lomason in Red Oak for 16 years.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her parents; brothers, J.D. and Howard (Pete) Williams; a sister, Carol Williamson; nieces, Diane Williamson and Angie (Williamson) Schaffer.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Joyce Martin of Clarinda; brother, Gale and wife Edith Williams of New Market; a sister-in-law, Geneva Claybaker of Afton; daughters, Dorene Claybaker of Clarinda and Danell and husband Steve Smith of Griswold; grandchildren, Sierra Claybaker and S.O. Scott Forney of Lincoln, Breanne and Robert Jackson of Bellevue, Neb. and Cody and Kelsi Smith of Albuquerque, N.M.; great-grandchildren, Erika and Emily Forney and August and Henley Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were 7 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at Ritchie Funeral Home, Clarinda. A private burial will be in the Summit Cemetery, rural Yorktown. Memorials may be given in her name. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family ritchiefuneralhome.com under obituaries.
