Lawmakers visit Red Oak

State lawmakers Mark Costello (left) of Imogene and David Sieck of Glenwood met with constituents in Red Oak Saturday morning at the Montgomery County Family YMCA. 

They were greeted by representatives of Nishna Productions, the Red Oak Rotary Club, the Red Oak Optimist Club, and local grocers, all of whom were there to discuss the potential for changing state’s can and bottle redemption law. 

The lawmakers discussed the budget cuts which are expected to be announced this week in Des Moines. The cuts are to the current year’s budget. 

They discussed priorities for the session, including potential constitutional amendments on gun rights and spending.
