Leland H. Smith, 66

Leland H. Smith (Sweed), 66, died on April 10, 2009, at Denver Hospital.

Leland was born in Shenandoah in 1942, to Harvey and Marie Smith. He went to school in Shenandoah and entered into the Army in the late 50s. After he left the service he settled in Pomona, Calif. where he met and married his wife Betty. They had one daughter, Lisa Marie Smith.

He later returned to the Red Oak area and then moved to Imogene, due to his health he then moved to Utah to be with his daughter and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard of Georgia, Charles of Oklahoma; and two sisters, Alice Dragroo of Shenandoah and Dorothy Ward of Red Oak.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hamel (Tracey), two grandchildren, special friend Betty, brother Leroy Smith of Florida, and sister Sharon Brown of Red Oak.
