Lewis receives promotion

On July 1 Sheri Lewis, a 1982 graduate of Red Oak Community High School, was promoted from Commander to Captain in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. Sheri is the daughter of Keith and Rose Lewis of Red Oak.

Sheri earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1989. She entered active duty with the Navy JAG Corps. in 1990. She spent her active duty time mainly on the West Coast, stationed at Naval Station Long Beach, Calif. and Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash. Sheri transferred to the Navy Reserve in 2000, and is currently the Commanding Officer of the Naval Reserve Military Justice unit in Wash.
