Manhunt ends with second assault arrest in as many weeks

 VILLISCA – A Villisca man was arrested over the weekend for the second time in two weeks for assaulting his girlfriend. 

Following what the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office describes as a “lengthy man hunt,” Jeremy Scott Dolph, 23, was arrested Sunday at 1:45 a.m. on a felony charge of willful injury and two misdemeanors, violating a no contact order and aggravated domestic assault. 

According to the sheriff’s office, the assault occurred about 8:50 p.m. Saturday. The Page County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa State Patrol and the Cass County K-9 unit assisted in the search and arrest of Dolph.  

The no contact order was issued after Dolph was first arrested Nov. 26 for assaulting his girlfriend. According to court  records, on Nov. 25, Dolph struck his girlfriend of five months several times in the head and face before lifting her off the bed while choking her. The next morning, he assaulted her again before she escaped to a friends’ house. 

Dolph was released from jail Nov. 27 after posting a $300 bond. 

Dolph has previously been found guilty of first degree harassment, criminal mischief, assault causing injury and felony burglary. Within the last year, he has also pleaded guilty to assault, possession of a controlled substance and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
