Marjorie E. Seberburg, 92

Marjorie E. Sederburg, 92, of Stanton, formerly Red Oak, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital. 

Marjorie E. Sederburg was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Red Oak, the daughter of Wilson and Amelia (Kassel) McIntyre. She was a 1935 graduate of Red Oak High School and married Ervin Sederburg on Nov. 2, 1935, in Maryville, Mo. They were married for 45 years and lived in Stanton, Shenandoah, Omaha, Carroll, Creston, and called Red Oak “Home” since 1950. Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Christian Women’s Club, Monday Club, Rebekah’s, and many other organizations. She led many Bible studies and was faithful in keeping in touch with family and friends through greeting cards. She loved her roses….and hated the rabbits. Marjorie knew everyone and was an encourager to the other residents at her current home at the Stanton Care Center. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband: Ervin on August 27, 1981; sisters: Helen Russell and Glendora Sandell; and a granddaughter. 

Survivors include her children: Curtis (Suzanne) Sederburg of Ames; Ron (Sande) Sederburg of Belle Vista, Ark.; and Janice (Richard) Faris of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church.
