Mathilda Howrey, 92

Mathilda “Tillie” Howrey, 92, Red Oak, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Society, Red Oak.

Mathilda “Tillie” Howrey, the daughter of Henrique and Maria Rosa (Melim) de Vasconcellos was born Nov. 10, 1921, in Hilo, Hawaii.

She married Leon Pate and later married Donald W. Howrey Dec. 29, 1956, in Hilo.
Tillie is survived by three daughters, Pamela Overin of Englewood, Colo., Madeline Waltjen of Keaau, Hawaii and Carla Anderson of Council Bluffs.

Celebration of life services will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak, with inurnment in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah. Fr. Thomas Kunnel, TOR, will officiate.

A memorial is being established in Tillie’s name.
