Myron L. McCunn, 78

Myron L. Mc Cunn, 78, of Orion, Ill., passed away May 10, 2010, at Trinity Hospital in Moline, Ill.

Myron was born on Oct. 10, 1931, in Page County, to John Herschel and Greta Abbott Mc Cunn. He married Diane Turner on Aug. 13, 1960, in Elliott.

Myron was an Army Veteran. He was employed as a Design Engineer for John Deere & Company for 34 years, retiring March 1, 1993. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Bank Orion and was active with the Orion Athletic Booster Club and Orion Education Foundation. He was an active member of Orion United Methodist Church.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Merle, Deane, Lyle, Lowell, and Ellis, and three sisters: Patricia Larson, Norma Peterson and Janice McCunn.

Survivors include his wife Diane of Orion, Ill.; sons, Gregory and wife Carrie of Orion, Ill., Matthew and wife Kelly of Waterloo, Wis. and Bradley and wife Denise of Eureka, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Drennen and husband Sam of Council Bluffs, and Rebecca Taylor of Rockford, Ill.; brothers, Don and wife Ardell of Massena, and Carroll “Newt” and wife Carolyn of Onawa.

Funeral service were held on Friday, May 14, 2010, at Orion United Methodist Church. Visitation was held on May 13, 2010, from 4–7 p.m. at Kirk, Huggins, & Esterdahl Funeral Home. Burial was at Western Township Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials are suggested to Orion United Methodist Church.
