Haidsiak ends campaign

Red Oak Mayoral candidate John Haidsiak has announced he’s leaving the race.
In the wake of comments made during a candidate forum for the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, Haidsiak issued the following statement.
“While it’s too late to take my name off the ballot, I am no longer running for the office of Mayor in Red Oak. I do want to apologize for what I said recently at the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council Conversation With The Candidates as I truly did not intend to offend anyone.”
Motgomery County Auditor Jill Ozuna shared what would happen if he gets a winning vote tally.
“It’s past the deadline for withdrawal and his name is on the ballots. If he got more votes and won, he would have to submit a written withdrawal then it causes a vacancy,” Ozuna said.
