A road construction project is taking place on July 19.
Cedar Falls Construction has been lined up to complete this patch on Friday morning beginning around 7 a.m. with the expectation of opening the road by mid-afternoon. While crews would be able to allow westbound traffic to stay on US 34, it would require law enforcement to direct traffic at the Eastern Ave intersection. With RAGBRAI already impacting local and state resources, it seems best to detour both directions of traffic.
The proposed detour route will be IA 48 from US 34 to Ratliff Rd; Ratliff from IA 48 to Eastern Ave; and Eastern from Ratliff back to US 34.
