Nishna moving redemption center April 1

RED OAK — With the finishing touches coming in the next couple of days, Nishna Productions will be relocating the bottle and can redemption center to its new building on South Broadway April 3.

Executive Director Sherri Clark said April 2 will be the last day the redemption center will be opened at the site of the former Thomas D. Murphy Calendar company.

Starting April 3, cans and bottles will be accepted at the 210 S. Broadway location.

The entrance to the redemption center is in the middle door on the north side, and hours of operation will be 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.

Nishna Productions officials hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the 16,200 square foot facility July 29, 2011.  Under the direction of Oakview Construction, work on the new vocational training center immediately.

Founded in 1974, Nishna Productions serves about 200 individuals with disabilities, offering work activity, adult day activity program, personal and social adjustment, residential services, home and community based services, and employment resources.

They have facilities in Shenandoah, Red Oak, Malvern, Sidney, Glenwood, and Council Bluffs.
