No. 10: Construction starts on two major projects

RED OAK — Ground was broken on two major construction projects located within half a mile of each other in Red Oak which will benefit residents of the entire county.

On June 23, county and law enforcement officials took out their ceremonial shovels commemorating start of construction on the new law enforcement center.

With a completion date of August 2012, the new 24-bed facility will replace the existing 100-year-old jail and will house the Montgomery County sheriff’s department, Red Oak police department and 911 emergency dispatch center.

On July 29, Nishna Productions commemorated the construction of a 16,200 square-foot vocational training center on South Broadway.
Once completed, the building will house all of Nishna Productions vocational services, including a document shredding department and the can redemption center. It will also include a new commercial laundry facility.

Construction was initially targeted to be completed by February, 2012.
