Marvin W. Johnson, 65

Marvin W. Johnson, 65, of Edmond, Okla. died Aug. 20, 2009, in Edmond, Okla.

Born Feb. 6, 1944, in Stanton to Helmer and Louise Johnson, Marvin taught high school in Lindsborg, Kan. School District for 10 years before becoming a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper. He was a trooper until 2001 when he retired to Oklahoma City. Marvin spent four years in the United States Air Force. He was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City.

He is survived by wife Teresa Johnson, son Brian Johnson, daughter Laurie Callis, son-in-law Marchant Callis, and grandchild Carter Callis, sister Marlene (Don) Peterson, brother Howard (Jeanie) Johnson, brother Warren (Debbie) Johnson, sister Elaine (Mike) Hinton, deceased brothers Carroll Johnson, survived by wife Kaye Linda, and brother Kenneth Johnson.

Memorial services were held Aug. 24 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg, Kan.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Lord of Life Lutheran Church at 15400 N Western Ave Edmond, OK 73013, or the Oklahoma chapter of the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society.
