Essex eliminated from CC Tourney after loss to FM

ESSEX — The Essex Trojannettes were eliminated from the Corner Conference tournament Monday when they lost to Fremont-Mills, 59-40.

Offense was an issue for Essex, as they scored no more than 13 points in any quarter, shooting 15-of-73 from the field.

Seana Perkins was the top scorer for Essex with 14 points and Haley Fundermann recorded 10 points for the Trojannettes.

Annie Lindburg and Mariah Johnson combined to score 11 points for Essex.

Essex also lost last Friday to the Villisca Blue Jays, 55-31.

Perkins again was the leading scorer for the Trojannettes with 19 points.

Last Thursday night, Essex lost to Sidney, 45-16. Fundermann and Johnson combined to score eight points for Essex.

The Trojannettes next game will be against Fremont-Mills on Jan. 25.
