Tigers JV volleyball wins team title

ATLANTIC — The Red Oak junior varsity volleyball team won the team title at the Atlantic Tournament Thursday.
Red Oak defeated Harlan in the championship match, 21-15 and 21-16.

The team reached the finals by avenging a previous tournament loss to the Glenwood Rams.

Red Oak defeated Glenwood 21-16, 20-22 and 15-7. The Tigers had lost to Glenwood at a tournament in Shenandoah, earlier in the season.

Red Oak entered the championshi bracket by winning both of their pool matches. They defeated the Clarinda Cardinals 23-21 and 21-15.

The Tigers then took care of Atlantic 21-15 and 21-11.

Atlantic’s Tournament featured teams from the Hawkeye Ten Conference.

The Atlantic Tournament was the junior varsity’s second of the season.
They will be competing at Kuemper Catholic on Tuesday night.
