Griswold basketball splits week
GRISWOLD — The Griswold basketball teams were swept in a doubleheader Friday night against Underwood.
Griswold’s boys team lost 56-36, while the girls’ team lost 47-28.
In the boys’ game, Devin Bates scored 15 points to lead the Tigers.
Jordyn Sindt meanwhile scored 11 points to lead the girls team.
Marquel Brunk scored seven points, while Trisha Huerta recorded four.
Thursday night, the Griswold girls came away with a win over East Mills, 48-39.
The win was Griswold’s second for the season.
Sindt scored 15 points on 6-for-17 shooting to lead Griswold. Huerta also had double-digit points as she finished with 10.
Devin Laughlin was the leading scorer for East Mills as she recorded 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting.
Katie Sowers joined Laughlin by scoring 10 points.
On the boys’ side, East Mills defeated Griswold, 56-35.
Luke Schafer scored 21 points, while Charlie Ruff added 10 off the bench, to give East Mills the win.
Devin Bates was the leading scorer for Griswold, recording 11 points with three assists.
Jared Schoning, Collin Fast and Grant Haynes each had six points for Griswold.
Both Griswold teams are on the road Tuesday night as they play Riverside.
