Red Oak man wins Lottery

DES MOINES, Iowa – A Red Oak man won a top prize of $30,000 playing the lottery’s “$30,000 Club” instant-scratch game.

William Elliott claimed his prize Monday at the Iowa Lottery’s regional office in Council Bluffs. He purchased his winning ticket at U-Stop Convenience Store, 19900 Virginia Hills in Council Bluffs.

The $30,000 Club is a $3 scratch game. Players count the number of “club” symbols and see the prize legend for the prize amount won. If they find the “money bag” symbol, they win $20 automatically. If they find the “star” symbol, they win $50 automatically. The overall odds of winning in the game are 1 in 3.68.

Five top prizes of $30,000 are still up for grabs in $30,000 Club, as well as 24 prizes of $1,000, 100 prizes of $300 and 460 prizes of $100 and $75.

Players can enter eligible nonwinning scratch tickets online to earn “Points For Prizes™” points. There is a limit of 30 ticket entries per day. To participate in Points For Prizes™, a player must register for a free account at ialottery.com. Registration is a one-time process. Merchandise that can be ordered by using points will be listed on the website in the Points For Prizes™ online store.
