Burkhiser and Goodell
Zebulon Carl Burkhiser, son of Robert and Mary Burkhiser, of Farragut, and Jennifer Dawn Goodell, daughter of Greg and Kriss Goodell, of Shenandoah, were married Saturday, April 21, at 2:30 p.m., at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Imogene.
Celebrant was Rev. Matthew Rolling of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City, Neb. Rev. Tom Kunnel, of Saint Patrick’s in Imogene was Concelebrant.
Honored guests were grandmother of the groom, Ruby Kirsch, of Farragut, and grandparents of the bride, Miles and Kate Humphrey, of Parkersburg.
Prelude music was provided by pianist Mary Beth Gowing and violinist Soyoun Jeon. Altar and Memory candles were lit by Eric Goodell and Brant Hanisch, brother and brother-in-law of the bride. Matron and Maid of Honor were Heidi Hanisch and Molly Goodell, sisters of the bride.
Other bridesmaids included Sara Goodell, sister-in-law of the bride, and Amanda George and Kelle Widger, friends of the bride.
Best men were Dan Leslie and Curtis Brooks, friends of the groom. Other groomsmen included Ryan Carlson, Brent Holman, and Jared McLaren, friends of the groom. Ring Bearers were Miles Hanisch, nephew of the bride, and Jimmy and Solomon George, friends of the couple. Flower girls were Natalie Holman, goddaughter of the groom, and Katie McClaflin and Addison Humphrey, cousins of the bride. Jane Emge, friend of the couple, and Eric Goodell, brother of the bride, led the congregation in voice and guitar. Lectors were Tom Burkhiser and Rita Cox, uncle and aunt of the groom. Father of the bride, Greg Goodell, also sang a beautiful rendition of the song, “How Beautiful.” Other family members and friends involved in the ceremony were Bethany Goodell, cousin of the bride, who offered the Prayer of the Faithful; and Joy Stortvedt, friend of the bride, who played harp for the postlude.
Following the ceremony, the couple welcomed guests at a reception and dance at the Iowa National Guard Armory in Shenandoah.
Zeb and Jenny are making their home in Shenandoah, where Jenny is the Operations Manager of KYFR Radio and Zeb is employed at Brown’s Shoe Fit General Office.
