Marveline Isaacson, 81
Marveline Leona Isaacson, 81, Stanton, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak.
Marveline, the daughter of Nels E. and Clara F. Anderson was born Oct. 14, 1931, in Stanton. Marveline lived in Stanton her entire life except for a few months when her father, Nels worked for the railroad in Hastings. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1949. After school, Marveline worked six years for the Union Carbide Battery Company in Red Oak.
Marveline married Darwin “Ferd” Isaacson Sept. 11, 1955, in Stanton. To this union five children were born, Denise, Doug, Diane, Darla and Danny.
Marveline was a stay-at-home mother until Danny started school. For 30 years, she worked part-time at Schenck’s Grocery in Stanton, along with being an Avon representative. She also worked a few years in the Stanton school lunch program. Marveline was a lifetime member of the Mamrelund Lutheran Church, where she participated in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Ernie Johnson Post #406 American Legion Auxiliary, Friendly Study Club, Bridge Club and Birthday Club. Marveline enjoyed crocheting, reading, cooking, baking, playing games and cards, but most importantly to her, being with her family.
Marveline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darwin “Ferd” May 14, 1993, sister, Maxine Nelson and her husband LeRoy; and niece, Pam Nelson.
Marveline is survived by her five children, Denise Goddard and husband Randy of Red Oak, Doug Isaacson and wife Susan of Stanton, Diane Peterson and husband Bruce of Baldwin City, Kan., Darla Baudler and husband John of Fontanelle and Danny Isaacson and wife Jamie of Cresco; 17 grandchildren, Hilary (Bryan) O’Flynn, Jonathan Goddard, Emily (Kyle) Doty, Brittany (Drew) Whigham, Dustin and Devin Isaacson, Alyssa, Claire, Eric and Fayth Peterson, Jacob, Jodi and Joshua Baudler, Darrian and Kristian Szajna, Addalyn and Benjamin Isaacson; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Hudson O’Flynn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Mamrelund Lutheran Church, Stanton. Burial will follow in the Mamre Cemetery, Stanton, with Dr. Eric Kutzli officiating.
Visitation with the family present will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Mamrelund Lutheran Church.
