William Dumler, 76

William Henry Dumler, 76, Villisca, died Nov. 9, 2013 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.

William was born April 12, 1937, the youngest and only son to Henry Dumler and Eva Eldora Adams.

William married Dorothy Evelyn King Nov. 26, 1954 at the Presbyterian Mance in Nodaway. This union was blessed with five children: Paul, Dianne, William R., Debra and Penny.

William worked for Westside Construction in Villisca for about 30 years and then for Traco in Red Oak for 10 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Villisca National Guard for four years.

William enjoyed fishing and hunting. He always loved going to the races, mainly in Corning, where he received an award for #1 fan. William was a life-long resident of the Villisca/Nodaway area. He was also a member of the Villisca Presbyterian Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Billie Joe Dumler; great-granddaughter, Madison Lee Bozwell; and sisters, Ruth Arnott and Sylvia Shipley.

Surviving William is his wife of 58 years, Dorothy, of Villisca; children, Paul (Darla) Dumler of Red Oak, Dianne Owens of Corning, William R. Dumler of Villisca, Debra K. (Ray) Bozwell of Red Oak and Penny (Kerry) Strong of Villisca; grandchildren, Jason, Chris Ann, Shannon, Katlyn, Robert, Melissa Bradley, Willie, Christopher, Dustin, Misty, Damien, Rod and Lucinda; 25 great-grandchildren with one on the way; his dog, Tiny; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Villisca Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sandra Rossander officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be at Wolfe Funeral Home, Villisca, from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.
