Sports Update: Red Oak advances in state team tennis

The Red Oak girls tennis team makes its way back to the state team tennis final four, following a win Tuesday afternoon in Norwalk versus Ballard.

Red Oak won the meet 5-0 and will compete in the final four, which takes place June 7 in Iowa City.

Joining Red Oak in the final four will be Cedar Rapids Xavier, who knocked off Dubuque Wahlert 5-2.

Meanwhile, Camanche defeated Pella Christian 5-0 in the state first round to once again advance.

There is one more first round state meet scheduled for Wednesday.

Waterloo Columbus, the defending state team champions, will face Spirit Lake/Okoboji at 3 p.m. in Fort Dodge.
