2015 Boys District Basketball Brackets released

The 1A and 2A boys district basketball brackets were released Wednesday afternoon by the IHSAA.

2A-District 15

The Red Oak Tigers begin district play Feb. 16 when they travel to Treynor to face Underwood in a play-in game. The game takes place at 8 p.m.

The other play-in game features AHSTW against Clarinda, which will be the first game of the doubleheader that night.

The winner of Red Oak/Underwood will play Treynor Feb. 19 in the district semifinal. The AHSTW and Clarinda winner will play Shenandoah in the other semifinal scheduled that night.

Feb. 24 will be the District 15 final as Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs hosts. The substate final will be Feb. 28 in Harlan.

2A-District 14

Southwest Valley will be competing in District 14 of 2A as they open the district tournament Feb. 16 in Truro when they take on West Central Valley. The game will be the first of a doubleheader starting at 6:30 p.m.

Should Southwest Valley win, they would play Panorama Feb. 19 in Truro.

The other first round play-in game features I-35 against Clarke as that game is played at 8 p.m. Feb. 16. The winner plays Central Decatur Feb. 19 in Truro.

The district final will take place Feb. 24, with the likely site being Truro. If I-35 makes it to the district final, however, a different site will be chosen.

1A-District 13

The Griswold Tigers begin district play Feb. 19 in the quarterfinals as they take on Exira-EHK at 6:30 p.m. at Nodaway Valley High School in Greenfield.

Two play-in games will be played to determine the other two quarterfinalists. Audubon takes on CAM and Glidden-Ralston faces Guthrie Center. Both games will be played in Audubon Feb. 16.

The winner of Glidden-Ralston and Guthrie Center will play Nodaway Valley in the second game of the doubleheader in Greenfield Feb. 19.

Paton-Churdan, the No. 1 seed, will play the winner of CAM and Audubon at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 at Coon Rapids-Bayard.

The second game of the doubleheader features Coon Rapids-Bayard versus Adair-Casey, which takes place at 8 p.m.

Guthrie Center will serve as the semifinal site on Feb. 24. The district final will be in Panora on Feb. 26.

1A-District 14

The remaining area teams will all be in the other district of substate 8.

Essex will be in one of the play-in games scheduled for Feb. 16. They'll be home on Feb. 16 as they host Riverside. The game will be played at 8 p.m. Should Essex win, they would play Sidney in the quarterfinals Feb. 19 at 6:30 p.m at Nishnabotna.

Heartland Christian and South Page play the other play-in game in Essex that night. The winner plays Fremont-Mills in the quarterfinals in Tabor Feb. 19 at 8 p.m.

East Mills will also be in Tabor Feb. 19 when they take on Clarinda Academy. That will be the first game of the doubleheader, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Stanton meanwhile faces Nishnabotna on Feb. 19 in the quartefinals at 8 p.m.

The semifinals will be Feb. 24 in Tabor and the district final will be Feb. 26 in Shenandoah.

The substate final between the district 13 and 14 winners will face off in Atlantic Feb. 28.
