ACCIDENTS
- On July 31, at about 3:09 p.m., the Montgomery County Communications Center received a report of an accident in front of 312 Broad Ave., Stanton. Jean Johnson, 39, driving a 2014 Hyundai Elantra, parked in front of The Hair Company, claimed to have stopped the vehicle and believed her foot was on the brake. Johnson accelerated up the stairs on the east side of Main Street and stopped before striking the building. She tried to back off the sidewalk and struck a 2015 Jeep Cherokee owned by Patricia Eklof, which was legally parked north of Johnson’s parking space. Damage to Johnson’s vehicle is about $6,000, and damage to Eklof’s vehicle was about $600. There were no injuries, and the investigation is complete.
