Boys and girls golf tops Southwest Valley at home

Behind low scores from Justin Bernard and Connor Johnson, the Red Oak boys golf team was able to get a win against Southwest Valley April 11.

Red Oak had a team score of 183 to Southwest Valley’s 226.

The Tigers were led by Johnson and Bernard, who both shot 43, which was the lowest score of any golfer.

Close behind them was Ryan Messinger who shot a 45, Jackson Welter who shot a 52, Ethan Hewett who shot a 54, and Austin Taylor who shot a 57.

Southwest Valley’s lowest score came from Jerad Shires, who shot a 54. He was followed closely by Cole Swenson who shot a 55 and Cody McMann, who shot a 56.

Following them was Jeff Walton, who shot a 61, Bryson Rhamy, who shot a 64, and Anthony Bynum, who shot a 83.

On the girls side, Red Oak registered a team score of 257, while Southwest Valley did not field a team with only three golfers participating.,

Ashley Brower, had the lowest score of any girls golfer with a 52.

Brower was followed for Red Oak by Katie Carlson’s 55, Belle Perkins, who shot a 66 and Maria Pendleton’s 84.

For the Timberwolves, the team was led by Kiara Roberts who shot a solid round of 54.

Roberts was followed by Maddi Ballard, who shot a 73, and Alaina Currin, who shot an 80.

For the Red Oak junior varsity, Christian Horn and Mason Perkins led the team with scores of 64. Liam Mahoney shot a 76 for the Tigers.

Southwest Valley’s junior varsity team’s scores were Connor Shipley who shot a 68 and Mike McCormick who shot a 88.
