RO SB breaks losing streak with walk-off win
The Red Oak Tigers snapped a nine-game losing streak with a walk-off victory over Kuemper Catholic on Friday, June 28, which was also senior night.
The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and held that through the third. But the Knights added two runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead. Both teams added a run in the fifth and the score held at 3-2 until the home half of the seventh inning. Red Oak had two runners on base, and Kam Buntrock knocked both runners in to end the game.
The second game of the double header ended after five innings, as Kuemper exploded on offense and won the game 12-2.
Clarinda
The Tigers fell 4-3 in a heartbreaking Hawkeye 10 loss to Clarinda on Monday, June 24, in Clarinda.
The Cardinals were up 2-0 at the end of the third inning, and Red Oak got the bats going in the fourth, driving in three runs to take a one-run lead. Clarinda knotted up the score in the home half of the fourth inning and the 3-3 score remained through the bottom of the seventh, as Clarinda walked off the win with a single.
Creston
The Tigers fell to the Creston Panthers 14-10 on Tuesday.
“This game started out not great for us,” Red Oak head softball coach Tristin Johnson said. “Creston was hitting the ball well, and we were a little flat, giving up six runs in the first. We scored three runs in the top half of the
