Tiger boys earn team trophy at home XC meet

Red Oak hosted the inaugural Paul Fish Invitational Monday, Sept. 16, with the boys varsity, girls JV and boys JV earning first place, and the girls varsity finishing third.
Baylor Bergren notched his first varsity win for Red Oak, with Justin McCunn earning second, Connor Koppa fourth, Bruce Lukehart eighth, and Kaden Johnson 11th for the team trophy.
On the girls side, Red Oak placed two in the top 10 with a second place finish for Alexa McCunn and sixth place for Cam Bass.

“Three Timberwolves set new PRs,” Southwest Valley head coach Jason Hults said. “Adam Harris earned his first top 10 medal while setting a new PR; Garrett Marn and Jay Khositanon set new PRs. Blake Venteicher continues to run well for the boys team, and came within 17 seconds of setting a new PR. Overall, it was a great night to be a Timberwolf.”

“I was so excited and proud of the girls for their effort tonight,” Hults said. “This was the girls first team medal since the 2015 team won the conference meet. The girls ran aggressively and fought for those places throughout the entire race. It was a great team effort and will encourage them to continue to improve as the season moves on.”
