2 charged with forgery, theft
Around 3:45 on Jan. 15, officers with the Red Oak Police Department were dispatched to the Cubby’s Convenience Store on the north side of Red Oak for two individuals who had passed counterfeit currency ($20 bills). The two individuals had left the premises, but the clerk at the store was able to obtain an accurate description and license plate from the vehicle the duo was driving.
Officers with the ROPD located the vehicle in the 300 block of East Prospect Street. The vehicle was stationary and the two individuals were outside the vehicle.
An investigation into the incident began and it was learned the vehicle, a 2006 Nissan Maxima, was reported stolen out of Council Bluffs Jan. 13. The two individuals were also in possession of additional counterfeit currency, drug paraphernalia and narcotics (meth/marijuana).
Sondra Mae Cobb, 37, of Omaha was charged with forgery, a Class D Felony; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dyllan Cole Cattano, 19, of Omaha, was charged with Theft, second degree, a Class D Felony, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cobb and Cattano were transported to the Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center, where they are being held in lieu of $5,000 cash bond.
The ROPD was assisted in the case by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
