SHP bed build day Feb. 8 in Red Oak

A Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Inc. bed build day will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Red Oak Mini Barns.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national organization whose mission is to provide beds for children. Its mission statement is “No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.” The Southwest Iowa Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace includes Fremont, Mills, Montgomery and Page counties.

To date, this chapter has built and delivered more than 120 beds to area children.

All interested persons, organizations, chapters and clubs are invited to attend this event. No experience is needed, and all supplies and tools are provided. Plans are to cut, sand and finish the lumber needed for a minimum of 25 beds.
