Norris graduates as Black Hawk pilot
Warrant Officer 1 Cole D. Norris, son of Ronda VonDielingen and David Ganley, of Red Oak, and Michael Norris, attended
Army Reserve basic training the summer of 1999, just before his senior year of high school, He was called to duty immediately following the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and served two tours in Iraq.
In Aug. 2007, Norris joined an active duty Army unit. He then served another year in Iraq as a general’s driver. Upon returning to Savannah, Ga., he continued his driving services for General Chris Hughes of Red Oak.
In 2011, Norris attended Warrant Officer Candidate School. He graduated in June 2011 and opted to continue on with Helicopter Flight School. He graduated Oct. 18, 2012, and is now a Black Hawk pilot.
Norris will be stationed at Fort Carson, Colo.
