Dolores Fort, 94

Dolores Virginia Fort, 94, Council Bluffs, formerly of Red Oak, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Fox Run Assisted Living, Council Bluffs.
Dolores Virginia Fort, the daughter of Wallace Paul and Evelyn (Hultquist) Swanson, was born April 20, 1929, in Stanton. Dolores was raised in Stanton until the family moved to Red Oak, where she graduated from Red Oak High School. On Oct. 26, 1947, Dolores was united in marriage to Jack Fort in Red Oak. Dolores was a wonderful homemaker, as her family was her priority. She loved to bake and enjoyed growing and tending to her flower gardens. She also enjoyed having coffee with friends. Dolores was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Red Oak. In 2019, she moved to Council Bluffs to be closer to her family.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack on Nov. 20, 2017; and sister, Lenore Mattson.
Dolores is survived by her children, Cindy Richards of Council Bluffs, and David (Brenda) Fort of Council Bluffs; five grandchildren, Julia (Craig) Krapfl, Christopher (Jenni) Richards, Michelle Barta, Joshua (Larissa) Fort and Courtney Fort; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Carlson of Blue Springs, Mo.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service was held Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home, Red Oak. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, with John Terauds officiating.
