Dorothy Porter, 94

Dorothy Louise Porter was born on March 21, 1931, in Red Oak, to Harold Alexander Hossle and Ferne Marcella Smith Hossle. She entered eternal rest on Jan. 8, 2026, at Homestead Assisted Living in Shenandoah at the age of 94 years.
Dorothy attended a country school until it closed, after which she attended Emerson High School in Emerson, where she graduated in 1949. The family later moved to a farm south of Corning owned by Dorothy’s father, Harold Hossle. While in Corning, their third child, Joyce, was born in 1958. After four years of farming, they moved to Hastings, and in 1963 their youngest child, Donna, was born. Shortly after, the family settled in Essex. After Duane’s passing in 2003, Dorothy continued to live in the family home in Essex.
