Harold Rossander, 90

Harold Clifford Rossander, 90, Stanton, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, at the Accura Healthcare of Stanton.
Harold was born March 12, 1935, the son of Harry and Dorothy (Nelson) Rossander. He attended country school and graduated from Stanton Public School. When he was 19, his father had a stroke, and Harold had to do the farming and helped raise his younger brothers. His father passed away the next year.
He was a member of the Iowa Army National Guard in Company L, 410th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Infantry Division serving for eight years. Throughout the years, Harold worked as a DHIA Supervisor, did carpentry, farmed, worked at the hatchery, and did plumbing work before starting a 29-year career with the Stanton Coop and worked through the transition to United Farmers’ Cooperative where he retired as Manager. He was also with Pioneer Mutual Insurance for nine years.
He was a pillar of the Stanton Community and served on many boards including Stanton Area Industrial Foundation of which he was a founding member, Stanton Chamber of Commerce, Stanton Booster Club, the church board, Land O’Lakes District Board President, Land O’Lakes Advisory Board, and Agri Grain Marketing. He was a longtime member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Stanton and currently a member of the First Covenant Church in Red Oak. Harold was very proud of his 4-H heritage and was a leader of the Stanton Scalpers for 11 years, started the Young Farmers Association, and was the youth director at the Coop.
Harold was united in marriage to LaDonna Jones Honeyman on June 7, 1973, and gained a daughter, Dixie age 16, and son, Marvin age 13. Harold loved them, loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved his nieces and nephews dearly.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, Darwin “Rosy” Rossander. Survivors include his wife, LaDonna Rossander of Stanton; children, Dixie Singbeil and husband Byron of Washington; and Marvin Honeyman and wife Cindy of Essex; seven grandchildren, Gary Honeyman of Villisca; Scott Honeyman and wife Torrie of Clarinda; Audra Honeyman of Council Bluffs; Drew Singbeil and wife Lindsay of Riverside; Jordan Singbeil of Washington; Mallory Co and husband Jeff of Concord, Calif; and Colton Singbeil of Riverside; 16 great-grandchildren, Ava, Gavin, Taya, Bennett, Aniston, Tyce, and Brayden Honeyman; Maiya, Brenner, Beckham, Madison, and Abe Singbeil; Wren, Olive, and Ellis Co; and Sophia Singbeil; brothers, Robert “Ross” Rossander and wife Sandy of Stanton, and Richard Rossander and wife Becky of Eastland, Texas; brother-in-law, Larry Jones and wife Katie of Snowmass, Colo.; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at First Covenant Church in Red Oak. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery in rural Stanton. Memorials are suggested to the First Covenant Church or the Twin Lakes Bible Camp.
