Mary Haubold, 87

Mary Elizabeth Haubold, 87, of Topeka, Kan., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Aug. 4, 2025.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1937, to Clifford and Myrtle (Olander) Palmquist at Stanton.
Mary worked as a nurse for 55 years, 31 at the Topeka VA where she was a Nursing Supervisor. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing at age 57.
She was a member of Countryside Methodist Church, NOVA (Nurses Organization of VA) and the American Nurses Association. She volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters, Doorstep, and Helping Hands Humane Society. She served at her church on the Prayer Team.
Mary is survived by her son, Roger Haubold; and and grandson; Cole Haubold.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Palmquist; mother, Myrtle Palmquist; brother, Wendell Palmquist; sister, Alice (Hart) Palmquist; and brother, Ralph Palmquist.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66604, with Pastor Michael Tomson-Degreeff, Countryside United Methodist Church officiating. Her burial will be at the Stanton Evangelical Covenant Cemetery, Sept. 7 at 1:30 p.m.
