Richard Davis, 83

Richard R. Davis, 83, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Born April 20, 1942, in Clay Center, Kan., to James Davis and Carmitta Wolf, Richard proudly served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, completing three tours in Vietnam and retiring as Petty Officer 1st Class with six medals, nine ribbons, and a perfect record.
He married Linda Baucom on Aug. 4, 1969. Richard loved westerns, bowling, fishing, camping, and sharing a good story or joke. He enjoyed showing his collection of Indian artifacts and guns, each with its own history and tale.
Survived by wife Linda; daughters, Barb (Mike) Haigwood and Dee (Scott) Reeve; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
